In my experience it is best to play it safe than go for something outlandish and modern. Keep in mind that your grandparents are probably the least technically sophisticated people in your life. If you can help them learn to use the Internet, set them up to watch DVDs at home, or otherwise help them in the high-tech arena, they will be grateful.
